What You Need:
1/4 C almonds, sliced
3 T heavy cream
4 oz. bittersweet chocolate, chopped
1/8 t cinnamon
1 T amaretto
1/8 t almond extract
How to Make It:
Place the almonds in a single layer on a baking sheet.
Toast in a 350 degree oven for 5 minutes or until browned.
Allow the almonds to cool, then chop and set aside.
Pour the heavy cream into a non stick heavy saucepan.
Add the chocolate and the cinnamon.
Place the pan over low heat and cook until the chocolate is melted and the mixture is smooth, stirring often.
Stir in the almonds, amaretto and almond extract.
Transfer the mixture to a fondue pot or pot with a heat source before serving.
Use strawberries, banana chunks, apple slices, butter cookies, angel food cake squares or even fortune cookies to dip into this scrumptious fondue.
