What You Need:
1/2 C uncooked elbow macaroni
1/2 lb. small shrimp, cooked
1/2 C frozen peas, thawed
1 rib of celery, chopped fine
1 small onion, chopped fine
3/4 C mayonnaise
1/4 C French dressing
1 T sugar
1 T white wine vinegar
1 t paprika
1/2 t salt
1/2 t garlic powder
1/2 t pepper
How to Make It:
Cook the macaroni according to the direction on the package.
Drain the macaroni, rinse in cool water and drain again.
Place the macaroni into a salad bowl.
Add in the shrimp, peas, celery and onion and toss to combine the ingredients together well.
Place the mayonnaise in a small mixing bowl.
Add the French dressing, sugar and vinegar.
Whisk to combine the ingredients together.
Sprinkle in the paprika, salt, garlic powder and pepper.
Whisk briskly to incorporate all the ingredients together well.
Pour the dressing over the salad and toss to coat all the ingredients well.
Cover and chill at least 4 hours before serving.
Use this as a starter, a side dish or as the main course for your Valentine’s dinner. Add a piece of garlic bread, cut into the shape of a heart, on the side for that just the right touch.
